Adagio for Strings

Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings is perhaps my favorite musical composition of all time:

I first heard it in college. I was driving to class and flipping through the radio, when I heard these glorious notes. They made me feel sad and happy, grateful, thoughtful, and holy. Just listen to it; I dare you not to feel something deep in your soul. :)

Thing I'm thankful for: invigorating discussions

Bond does a version of this in a dance-style, as pretty much all of their stuff is. It's pretty interesting. You might consider checking it out. (Search for Bond Quartet to find them.)

I heard this performed earlier this week at a Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra performance. The kids did an amazing job. And yes, this piece is full of emotion.
